Over the past couple of years, I have been working on various live improvised story shows, in which the audience creates and brings to life a brand-new story. These always involve songs, props and that tingly feeling you feel when a big bunch of people properly connect. The shows are intended to work as proper family entertainment, in which the parents come away having enjoyed themselves as much as the kids.
My absolute favourites of these shows have involved some extremely talented illustrators helping to feed (and feed off) the audience’s collective imagination.
Recently, I have been honoured to work with some supremely talented folk: Garry Parsons (On Blackheath 2018), Steve May (Herts Lit Fest 2018), Gemma Hastilow (Wychwood 2018 & 19) and, most recently, Jonny Duddle (Alien in Lowestoft at the First Light Festival 2019, above).
I would love to put on more shows with illustrators so… whether you are organising a music festival, a book festival or any kind of event for family audiences, I’d love to hear from you. If you’d like to include a unique, interactive, engaging show with live musical and drawing please email my booking agent at Garethwrites@hotmail.com.
